Hello all.

I just updated the software to phlyMail Lite 4.00.04 and I'm having an issue.
Two of my folders are not showing their emails anymore.
The display was fine with the previous version (3.7.something).
Now, with those two folders, the only thing I see is an uninitialized screen.

The only common point I could find between those two folders is a large amount of emails inside (1260 and 1145), the mailnum field in the DB.

It's not a problem of theme, as I tried them all.
It's neither a problem of browser, I tried Firefox, Opera and Iron.
I also have the same issue by changing the folder's options.

I solved the issue with one of my folders, by removing some useless emails (1145 -> 69) from the DB, and updating the mailnum field in the folder entry.
But I can't remove emails from the other folder.

Did someone already have this issue ?
How can I resolve it ?

The actual number of items within a folder should not count at all. What value did you set for "items per page" in your user's setup? This window is available via "Setup > Programme" in the top main menu of phlyMail.

The "items per page" value from the settings doesn't seem to matter.
The default value was 50, and the behaviour is the same with 30 and 100.

If I manually change the mailnum field of the problematic folder in the DB to a lower value, the email pannel is showing the ammount of emails I wrote down (total ammount of emails inside the folder, no relation with the pages wich are working well).
The display is working, until there is a change in that folder (new mail for example), then the field is updated by the program and the display broken again.

With a mailnum value of 999, the display is "working" (showing the 999 first emails), but with a mailnum value of 1000 the display is not working anymore.

What "display" of the mailnum field do you mean? Please attach a screen shot of the main window with the a working folder and one with a broken folder. Thank you in advance.

Did you update your themes, too? Are you sure, all files in the installation were updated? How did you update? Manually or via AutoUpdate?

I manually updated with the update version, replaced all the old files by the new ones, and went on the config.php page.
I got an error with some themes, so I deleted all my themes and downloaded all the new versions of the themes.
I also got an error with a missing word in the French translation (MenuHome), so I fixed it.

Here are the screens :

When the mailnum value of the folder is lesser or equal than 999 :

The display is "working" (showing 999 emails)



The issue is not because of the special folder, it's the same with another regular folder.

I also got an error with a missing word in the French translation (MenuHome), so I fixed it.

This is provided by a third party, sorry, that it was not perfect. If you find more mistakes in the French translation, we would be grateful to receive an updated version of the language file.

When the mailnum value of the folder is greater or equal than 1000 :

I just fired up my Lite test installation and put around 1000 mails into one of the local folders there. Just to check, whether somehow a bug sneaked in, which only affects local folders. For IMAP I could tell, there isn't, since I do work on a daily basis with phlyMail, but this usually via IMAP.

I know there's no defined limit of the number of mails per folder and my checks showed, that handling large amount of mails is not a problem at all.

So I guess, there's maybe sth. wrong with your server? What field type has the mailnum field in your installation?

mailnum is int(11), Not null, default = 0

A POP folder or an IMAP folder have the same behaviour.
I think it's just a problem of display (javascript or something), or configuration.

I fixed my problem by sorting my folders and checking all are containing less than 999.

When I will have more free time, I will try to investigate the problem and come back to you if I find anything.

BTW: This issue should be solved with build 4.0.6, so your folders can now (again) contain more than thousand mails.
