Original HTML does not show in draft or template messages

Postby HumbleScholar » 13.03.2011 11:25

After saving a message as a draft or a template, double-clicking the message displays original HTML in the preview pane but the pop up window only shows the sanitized HTML and no way to choose the original.
This makes it impossible to continue working on a template after it's been saved.

Double clicking a mail within Drafts or Templates shall open the mail in the editor window. BUT: The format of outgoing mails is determined in Setup > Programme. If plain text is the chosen format, all mails you send will be plain text, even the Drafts in HTML.

Matthias thank you for a quick response.
Both 'Show message body as' and 'Send emails as HTML' in settings are set to HTML.
All outgoing emails (even the template or draft messages, when sent without double-clicking first) arrive perfectly in HTML format.
To try and replicate the problem do the following:
1) Ensure 'Show message body as' and 'Send emails as HTML' are set to HTML.
2) Create a message with a table and some values in the cells
3) Save it as a Template
4) Double-click the message in the Templates directory
If your preview setting in that directory is on, you should see the table in the preview pane.
The pop-up window will show you the message without the table.
Thanks again and looking forward to your reply.

Thank you for providing me with these detailed steps to reproduce the problem. I can indeed affirm it. Probably the editor swallows the markup. Most probably the next build will fix that issue.

Thanks again for reporting it.

Thanks Matthias.
I'm not sure when you're planning to have the next build released but I was wondering if I could fix it locally by tweaking my local copy in the meantime?
If it is a simple matter perhaps you can post here the file and lines to be altered?
I just recently migrated to phlyMail and I'm loving it but I use the templates a lot and constantly update them.
As you can appreciate, this problem makes my job very hard :-).
I would really appreciate your help on this.

Simply copy the attached file into phlymail/handlers/core/ - but make sure to make a local backup of the file.
